First Look

Modern Brides are creating their own traditions with the First Look.

It is a wonderful way to have a special moment with your husband-to-be before the hustle and bustle of the wedding day ensues. The bride & groom get ready separately, then the groom is then taken to a secluded location and waits. The bride enters behind him, and he turns to see her for the first time. This moment is so special that you will forget our cameras are even there.

In the olden days of arranged marriages, brides were kept in hiding until the wedding day so the groom wouldn't be able to back out if he didn't approve of the bride's appearance. Partly due to superstition, this tradition has continued throughout the years. We are taught that it is bad luck for the bride & groom to see each other before the ceremony.

Seeing each other before the ceremony helps to calm nerves, and is usually the only time you will have alone together all day. Not to mention it will make your post-ceremony portraits go much faster, leaving you with more time to spend with guests at the reception. The First Look is entirely optional, but I really believe that it is the best way to ensure that you have plenty of time for amazing and truly personalized portraits.

This moment is just for you.
